Joseph "Jerry" Stasukinas

Joseph "Jerry" Stasukinas, 88, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.He was born in Springfield on November 29, 1936, the son of Alby and Vera Stasukinas. Jerry married Frances Marie Stasukinas in Springfield on May 18, 1957.
Jerry went to St. Peter and Paul Grade School and later attended St. James Trade School. He inherited his entrepreneurial spirit from his first generation Lithuanian immigrant parents, who owned and operated Alby's Tavern. At a young age, Jerry learned the plumbing business and used that knowledge to start Springfield Plumbing & Heating in 1962, with the help of his devoted wife, Frances. The business later evolved into Springfield Mechanical Corporation in 1969, which is still in operation today. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Local #137, Illinois Plumbing Association, Lithuanian- American Club of Central Illinois, and a faithful member of St. Cabrini Parish.
