Earl D. Cumberworth, 73, of Springfield, IL passed away peacefully at home on Sunday January 26, 2025 while in the company of his loving family. Earl was born in Springfield on August 28, 1951 the son of Roy and Dorothy (Womack) Cumberworth. He married the love of his life, Peggy Ann Little on June 19, 1971.
Earl retired from Aramark in 2016 after working as a delivery driver for 34 years. He worked hard and we can count on one hand how many days he missed throughout his career.
Above all, Earl cherished his family. He loved being a husband, a dad and a Papa. Earl was also known for his sense of humor. He teased his family for years that he was headed to the rainbow bridge to meet his deceased dogs, Taffy and Bailey, long before it was time for him to depart this life. We have no doubt they were waiting for him when he arrived. Even in his last weeks, he still made us laugh to let us know even though his body and mind were tired, he was still there.
