Mary Ann Kemp, 89, of New Berlin, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 20, 1935, the daughter of Glenn Morris and Helen (Bacon) Coates. Mary Ann married Ronald Lee Kemp on February 21, 1953, in Pocahontas, AK. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2000.
Mary Ann went to grade school in Lynnville and graduated from Winchester High School in 1953. She and Ronald ran Camping Center in New Berlin. Later, Mary Ann worked for 12 years with Knights Templar Eye Foundation. Mary Ann was a faithful member of Island Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone. Mary Ann was known for her pizza burgers, iced tea, and lemonade. She always made sure no one left her house hungry. Mary Ann also loved visiting rummage and garage sales. She had a strong work ethic, and everyone that met her loved her instantly.
